Brecher's Hyperspace Rifts

Brecher's Hyperspace Rifts is a Cobblemon addon for Minecraft 1.21.1 that makes legendary Pokémon a long-term, cooperative goal. You and your friends clear Hyperspace Rift incursions, build up a stash of crafting currency, forge and charge a Legendary Crystal, and finally fight and seal a legendary in a Convergence. The same content runs on Fabric and NeoForge.

The mod is built for servers where this is the way to get a legendary. It does not change Cobblemon's own wild spawning, so a server that wants legendaries to come only from rifts turns their wild spawns off separately.

The five rift tiers: Volatile (red), Unstable (orange), Chaotic (rainbow, front), Stable (green) and Fading (light blue)

The legendary loop

  1. Find a rift. Rifts spawn on their own in the Overworld. A Resonator points you at the nearest one.
  2. Fight an incursion. Right-click a rift to preview it, then join. Everyone in the party battles the same boss at once in parallel Cobblemon battles that share one health bar. Between stages the party votes to retreat with its rewards or push deeper. See Rifts and tiers and Incursions.
  3. Build the economy. Incursions pay out Rift Dust, which compresses into Rift Shards. Volatile and Chaotic rifts also pay Apex Tokens. See Rewards.
  4. Craft a Legendary Crystal. 8 Rift Shards plus 1 Apex Token.
  5. Charge it. Carry the Crystal while you fight rift battles until it reaches 100%.
  6. Attune it. Beating the final stage of a Chaotic rift leaves a Legendary Remnant. Click it with an unattuned Crystal to bind the Crystal to that legendary species. See Crystals.
  7. Summon the Convergence. Place an Altar and right-click it with a fully charged, attuned Crystal to open a server-announced raid against that legendary. Other players can join with their own charged Crystals.
  8. Seal it. After the victory, the Weakened Legendary lingers for a short window. Use a fully charged Crystal on it to start a normal Cobblemon catch battle. See Convergence and sealing.

Main features

  • Five rift tiers (Fading, Stable, Unstable, Volatile, Chaotic) with one to five stages each and party sizes from one to four.
  • Cooperative incursions: parallel battles against one shared boss health pool, with boss health that scales as the party grows.
  • Anomalies that change the rules of a stage, and Facets, group-wide bonuses the party drafts between stages.
  • Raid Cheers: consumable items that boost or heal your side mid-battle.
  • A Resonator compass that tracks rift signals, with a tier filter.
  • A multi-step, crystal-gated route to catching legendaries, with no random encounters involved.
  • An in-game Patchouli field guide.

Requirements

Minecraft 1.21.1 and Java 21 on both loaders. Cobblemon must be at least 1.7.3 and below 1.9.0 (the 1.8 line is supported).

LoaderRequired
NeoForgeNeoForge 21.1.209 or newer, Cobblemon, Patchouli 1.21.1-93 or newer, Kotlin for Forge 5.10 or newer
FabricFabric Loader 0.17.2 or newer, Fabric API 0.116.12 or newer, Cobblemon, Patchouli 1.21.1-93 or newer, Fabric Language Kotlin

Cobblemon brings its own additional dependencies; install whatever it asks for on your loader.
